Tribeca Debuts Reframe Film Digitization & Retail Service

New York - The nonprofit Tribeca Film Institute on Monday announced the launch of Reframe, an online service that will help filmmakers, libraries and other media owners digitize, market and sell their classic and hard-to-find films and video content using the Internet.

Global Kids Gets Grant to Study Use of Virtual Worlds for Public Good

Chicago - Global Kids, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to education students in underserved communities about international and public policy issues, announced this week that it has received a grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, to accelerate the exploration of virtual worlds. Global Kids said it will use the funding "to spark discussion about the use of virtual worlds for the public good."

New York - The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation this week announced plans to commit $50 million over five years to fund research and innovative projects focused on understanding the impact of the widespread use of digital media on youth and how they learn.
