New York - The founders of social news service Reddit, who three years sold their company to publisher Conde Nast, have announced that they are leaving the company, PaidContent reported, citing a post on the Reddit blog. Co-founders Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian said in the post that they plan to pursue other interests.

Bloomberg Acquires BusinessWeek from McGraw-Hill

New York - Business news publisher Bloomberg announced that it has agreed to acquire the 80-year-old publication BusinessWeek from The McGraw-Hill Companies. While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, several publications pegged the purchase price at around $5 million, plus the assumption of around $32 million in liabilities.

New York - The Vibe Lifestyle Network, a unit of Intermedia -- the company that recently acquired defunct Vibe magazine, announced on Tuesday that it has named Jermaine Hall as editor-in-chief of the re-launched Vibe and Vibe.com properties. Hall was most recently editor-in-chief of King Magazine, and prior to that was music editor at The Source. Vibe.com is set to re-launch yet this month, while a quarterly magazine will begin publishing in November.

Activision, Future Team on "World of Warcraft" Magazine

Los Angeles - Video game publisher Activision Blizzard (NASD: ATVI), a unit of Vivendi, has teamed with video game media publisher Future to launch "World of Warcraft: The Magazine," a quarterly publication about the popular massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. The ad-free, 150 page magazine will be available for a $40 annual subscription in the U.S., and will also be translated into French, German and Spanish. World of Warcraft counts over 11.5 million players worldwide.

CBS to Insert Video Ad Into Entertainment Weekly Magazine

New York - CBS (NYSE: CBS) plans to integrate a video advertisement for its programs and PepsiCo products into an upcoming issue of the print edition of Entertainment Weekly, the Associated Press reported. The experimental ad will play on an insert with a two-inch video screen and embedded speaker, and will be inserted into some copies of the magazine's fall TV preview issue mailed to subscribers in New York and Los Angeles.

The SI Swimsuit 2009 application, created by Azuki Systesms, also provides sports scores, schedules and team information, and lets users create sports calendars to track teams with customized swimsuit model photos for each month.
