Majesco to Publish New Title From "PaRappa the Rapper" Creators

Bristol, England - Video game publisher Majesco (NASD: COOL) announced on Monday that it has partnered with the creators of the music-based game "PaRappa the Rapper" -- musician and game designer Masaya Matsuura, and artist Rodney Alan Greenblat -- to develop an original music-based game exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. The title is slated for release in late 2008.

Edison, N.J. - Video game publisher Majesco Entertainment (NASD: COOL) announced on Tuesday the formation of a casual games development studio in the Los Angeles area. The company appointed Bill Petro, formerly SVP of development at Sega of America, as its vice president of internal development responsible for building and overseeing the new studio's operations.

Included in the lineup are "Blast Works: Build, Fuse & Destroy" and "Furu Furu Park" for Wii, "Kengo: Legend of the 9" for Xbox 360, and a range of Nintendo DS titles.

Game Publisher Majesco Regains Nasdaq Compliance

Edison, N.J. - Video game publisher Majesco announced on Friday that it has received notice from the Nasdaq that the company has regained compliance with the exchange's requirements for continued listing. New Jersey-based Majesco had tipped below the Nasdaq's $35 million market value of listed securities requirement.

Eidos in Deal to Distribute Majesco Games in Europe

Edison, N.J. - Video game publisher Majesco said on Wednesday that it has signed a deal with fellow publisher Eidos Interactive, which will distribute a number of new Majesco titles in the European market. The agreement focuses on Nintendo DS titles, including "Cake Mania" and "MechAssault: Phantom War," and includes several Wii titles. Eight games are due out this summer, with 15 others also in the pipeline.

Edison, N.J. - Video game publisher Majesco on Tuesday shipped its "Cooking Mama: Cook Off" title for Nintendo Wii to retailers. Developed by Office Create and licensed from Taito, the game is a follow-up to a title released in 2006 for Nintendo DS.

CenterStaging Corp., parent company of rehearsals.com, has announced that Paul “Schmidi” Schmidman has been promoted to President. The firm’s Board of Directors approved Schmidman’s promotion from his previous post as Chief Operating Officer, which he held since July of 2006. Schmidman, who will remain as Chief Operating Officer, will continue to be based at the CenterStaging headquarters in Burbank, CA. The Board also elected Johnny Caswell, formerly the President, as Chairman of the Board, and CEO Roger Paglia as Vice Chairman of the Board.

Edison, N.J. - Video game publisher Majesco on Thursday announced a deal with developer and game technology firm Valve, to distribute Majesco PC game titles using Valve's Steam broadband gaming platform. Initial titles offered through Steam will include "BloodRayne 2" and "Advent Rising" ($19.99 each) and "BloodRayne 1" ($9.99). Developer Double Fine Productions' "Psychonauts" will be offered via Steam in early October.

Edison, N.J. - Video game publisher Majesco announced late on Tuesday that it has appointed Jesse Sutton, president of the company for the past ten years, as interim CEO and a member of the board. Sutton's father, Morris Sutton -- who was serving as interim CEO and chairman -- will vacate his seat on the company's board and return to his role as chairman emeritus.

Edison, N.J. - Video game publisher Majesco Entertainment announced on Tuesday that it has regained compliance with the Nasdaq's stockholders' equity requirements for continued listing on the exchange. The New Jersey-based company had fallen out of compliance with the exchange's requirement that it have a minimum of $2.5 million in stockholders' equity. Like most other publishers, Majesco experienced weak sales in the latter part of 2005, and in response shifted its business model away from capital-intensive premium console game titles in favor of value products and lower-cost games for handheld systems.
