New York - Honda has partnered with Sony Pictures Television to sponsor a series of "minisodes," comprised of 4-6 minute condensed versions of full-length episodes of vintage TV shows like "Charlie's Angels," "The Facts of Life" and "Who's the Boss," The New York Times reported. Honda will insert eight-second ads for its petite Honda Fit vehicle into the minisodes, including an on-screen billboard lasting three seconds, and a five-second video commercial. MySpace will exclusively host the videos for a period beginning next week, after which time the companies plan to expand distribution. Washington - XM Satellite Radio, a provider of satellite radio service to more than 7.6 million subscribers, said on Tuesday that it has extended its relationship with American Honda Motor Co. through 2016. XM is the exclusive satellite radio provider for American Honda, which markets both Honda and Acura vehicles. Honda was one of XM's original partners, and introduced its first factory-installed XM vehicles in 2003. New York - MTV and VH1 said on Tuesday that they will offer a "flashmob" concert performance from Pink on their mobile and broadband platforms. The April 5 concert, announced to fans via text messages and e-mails on the day of the show, was sponsored by Honda to promote the launch of the 2006 Civic. Several full songs from the show will be offered on VH1's VSPOT and MTV's Overdrive broadband channels, while video clips will be available on MTV Mobile and VH1 Mobile.

XM also has partnerships with General Motors, Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan and Volkswagen/Audi, and is available in more than 120 different vehicle models for 2005. Washington, DC -- XM Satellite Radio, the D.C.-based provider of satellite radio services, said on Wednesday that automaker American Honda will increase the number of models with XM radios as standard equipment for the 2005 model year. As a result, Honda said that it expects to double its sales of XM-equipped vehicles, from 200,000 to 400,000. All of the cars will be sold with a free three-month trial subscription. "XM is proving to be a very popular feature that our customers want to see offered on a broader range of models," said Tom Elliott, the executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co. XM on Wednesday also unveiled a new satellite data information service, in partnership with NAVTEQ, a provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation systems. The service, known as XM NavTraffic, will allow a vehicle's on-board navigation system to display current traffic information for a driver's chosen route. The system will debut this fall as part of Acura's communication system.
