- CBS (NYSE: CBS) plans to integrate a video advertisement for its programs and PepsiCo
products into an upcoming issue of the print edition of Entertainment Weekly,
the Associated Press reported. The experimental ad will play on an insert with
a two-inch video screen and embedded speaker, and will be inserted into some
copies of the magazine's fall TV preview issue mailed to subscribers in New York and Los
Angeles.

Santa Monica, Calif. -- Yahoo announced on Thursday that it has partnered with Pepsi to give a new online home to "Pepsi Smash," a live concert series that originally aired on TV. "Smash on Yahoo Music" will feature on-demand video of live performances, in addition to lifestyle segments, interviews and other footage from artists including Coldplay, Kanye West, Gwen Stefani, Billy Corgan and Mark Hoppus. The site will also offer features on cover song performances, electronic music DJs, emerging hip-hop, music news and promotional contests.

Cupertino, Calif. -- Apple Computer on Thursday announced the launch of a version of its popular iTunes Music Store for owners of Windows PCs. The company's Mac version of the store has sold over 13 million songs in six months. The launch includes the release of a Windows version of Apple's iTunes digital jukebox software, as well as new features such as the addition of over 5,000 audiobooks through a partnership with Audible; one-click registration for AOL's 25 million U.S. members; and an "Allowance" feature that lets parents automatically deposit funds into their kids' iTunes account every month. Apple also announced a promotional partnership with Pepsi that will give away 100 million free songs through iTunes. Pepsi will place winning codes in bottles of its products and launch the promotion in a Super Bowl ad.
