Match.com Parent IAC in Talks to Buy Yahoo Personals

New York - IAC (NASD: IACI), the operator of 35 Internet firms including Citysearch, Evite and Match.com, is in talks with Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) to purchase the company's online personal ads business, Barron's reported, citing remarks made by CEO Barry Diller during a conference call with analysts.

Match.com to Launch Facebook Dating Application

New York - IAC's (NASD: IACI) Match.com dating site plans this week to introduce Little Black Book, an application for the Facebook online social network that will allow Facebook users who sign up to receive potential matches from both Facebook members and non-members who use Match.com, the Associated Press reported. Match.com claims 15 million users, while Facebook counts around 58 million.

New York - IAC (NASD: IACI) , the media conglomerate run by Barry Diller that owns Ticketmaster, Citysearch, Ask.com and many other properties, announced on Monday a plan to split IAC into five publicly-traded companies. "We've been a complex enterprise almost from the very beginning 12 years ago, with hundreds of transactions over those years. And while we've created a lot of value, I've always believed our complexity and many mouthfuls of sentences to explain who we are and what our strategy is have hampered clarity and understanding with all our constituencies, particularly investors," said IAC chairman and CEO Barry Diller.

New York, N.Y. - IAC/InterActive Corp., the New York-based conglomerate of Internet media and e-commerce businesses, is opening a venture capital investment arm in Silicon Valley, according to a report in the San Jose Mercury News.
