OnLive Lands Major Funding to Launch Game Service

San Francisco - OnLive, the developer of a Web platform that delivers instant video games on demand, said on Wednesday that it has landed a major new round of funding, which the company calls "by far" its largest to date.

Beijing - Chinese online video site Youku.com announced on Monday that it has raised $30 million in new private equity financing, led by Maverick Capital, with participation from previous investors Brookside Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Farallon Capital and Chengwei Ventures.

Dundee, Scotland - Scotland-based video game developer Realtime Worlds has raised a $50 million third round of financing led by Maverick Capital, TechCrunch reported, citing a source with knowledge of the deal.
