Bloomberg Acquires BusinessWeek from McGraw-Hill

New York - Business news publisher Bloomberg announced that it has agreed to acquire the 80-year-old publication BusinessWeek from The McGraw-Hill Companies. While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, several publications pegged the purchase price at around $5 million, plus the assumption of around $32 million in liabilities.

New York - McGraw-Hill (NYSE: MHP), the publisher of BusinessWeek magazine, has hired the investment bank Evercore Partners to help it explore strategic options, including a possible sale of the 80-year-old publication.

Mountain View, Calif. - LinkedIn, an online social network for business professionals, announced on Thursday that it has landed a new $22.7 million financing round, from investors including Goldman Sachs, The McGraw-Hill Companies, SAP Ventures and previous backer Bessemer Venture Partners.
