Cable VOD Firm In Demand to Carry Met Opera HD Broadcasts

New York - The Metropolitan Opera this announced a deal with cable VOD provider In Demand Networks, to offer all 8 performances from the series of high-definition broadcasts it is offering in movie theaters. Beginning in January, the series of HD broadcasts beamed to movie theaters will also be available to cable and satellite TV subscribers with In Demand within 30 days of their theatrical releases.

National CineMedia Renews Live Broadcast Deal With Metropolitan Opera

Centennial, Colo. - National CineMedia, a provider of in-theater digital programming and advertising services to movie exhibitors, announced on Thursday that it will once again beam live opera performances in HD from New York's Metropolitan Opera to U.S. theaters this season. The series will expand from six to eight live opera transmissions, and is expected to reach between 300 and 400 movie theater and performing arts center locations -- nearly triple the number of venues from last season.
