WSJ Taps Action Engine for Windows Mobile Service

New York - The Wall Street Journal Digital Network (NYSE: NWS) on Wednesday said it partnered with mobile applications firm Action Engine to offer a free, downloadable application for Windows Mobile phones that provides mobile access to WSJ.com, MarketWatch.com and Barrons.com. Microsoft's Windows Mobile is also the launch advertiser for the new service.

Bellevue, Wash. - Action Engine, a developer of mobile on-device portal applications, announced on Monday that it has raised $20 million in its latest round of venture capital financing, led by Baker Capital.

MSNBC Launches Beta of Ad-Supported Free Mobile News Service

Las Vegas - News website MSNBC.com announced on Wednesday that it plans to launch an ad-supported mobile news service, which will be free to subscribers but include video and banner ads along with news stories. The company partnered with Bellevue, Wash.-based mobile application developer Action Engine on the service, which began a three-month beta test today. MSNBC.com Mobile will offer print versions of news stories, in addition to videos of headline and business news, photo slideshows, and clips of NBC News programs including "The Today Show".
