Atlanta - Air2Web, an Atlanta-based mobile marketing services provider, announced that it plans to merge with MindMatics, a Germany-based provider of mobile marketing development and execution technologies.

Nellymoser, a mobile media and service delivery platform provider, today announced its new CEO, Susanne Bowen. Most recently, Bowen was the Chairman and CEO of Webhire. Bowen has also held senior executive positions with Workscape, ENTEX Information Services and JWP Information Services. Bowen replaces John Puterbaugh who will remain actively involved in the company as Founder and Director.

Mobile Marketing Provider Air2Web Raises $25 Million

Atlanta - Air2Web, an Atlanta-based provider of mobile messaging and marketing applications for businesses and wireless carriers, has raised $25 million in a round of venture capital led by The Carlyle Group. Other investors in the deal include Vantage Point, UPS and technology entrepreneur Jay Chaudhry. Founded in 1999, Air2Web offers technology that connects marketers to mobile subscribers. The company has supported mobile marketing campaigns by The Weather Channel, American Express, PGA Tour, CBS Sportsline, Cingular and UPS. Air2Web maintains branch operations in India, which serves the Asia Pacific market, and France and England, which serve the European market.

The Orchard, Air2Web to Distribute Independent Music to Cell Phones

New York - The Orchard, a digital distributor of independent label music, announced on Wednesday a deal with mobile messaging firm Air2Web, providing the company with technology to deliver digital music to mobile devices. The agreement will enable Orchard artists and labels to sell ringtones, and also insert SMS codes into physical and virtual products. An initial selection of 200 ringtones will be offered in the U.S., with plans to expand the offering to include The Orchard's full catalog of songs, ringtones and master recording ringtones. Atlanta-based Air2Web serves mobile content to 500 carriers in 170 countries. Separately, New York-based The Orchard announced that Dim Mak Records, Norton Records, CornerstoneRAS/Park the Van and Surfdog Records have signed agreements to use the company's digital marketing and distribution services. The deals will add tracks from artists including the Ramones, the New York Dolls, Bloc Party, Annie, and Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks to The Orchard's catalog of over one million tracks.

Cingular Subscribers to Decide Plot of WB's "One Tree Hill" via Text Messages

Las Vegas - Cingular Wireless said on Wednesday that it partnered with The WB on a feature that will let viewers determine the plotline of an upcoming episode of "One Tree Hill" with their mobile phones. Cingular partnered with mobile messaging firm Air2Web to enable viewers to send text-messages to network-initiated plot questions, with responses to be tallied and reflected in the outcome of the following week's episode.
