Video-sharing Site Metacafe Signs Mobile Distribution Deals

Palo Alto, Calif. - Video-sharing site Metacafe, which claims 28 million unique monthly visitors, on Wednesday announced partnerships with several mobile entertainment firms. The deals with Buongiorno, which counts 100 carrier partners in over 50 countries; mobile entertainment network Dyuna; and Mobile Streams will facilitate the distribution of Metacafe's content on mobile phones.

Mobile Streams to Distribute Private Media's Mobile Adult Content

Barcelona - Private Media Group, a distributor of adult entertainment content, announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with Mobile Streams to develop and distribute mobile adult entertainment products for Latin America, North America and Asia. Under the deal, London-based Mobile Streams will create mobile TV channels, video clips, games, wallpapers and MMS services featuring Private Media's content. Spain-based Private's content is currently available via 59 mobile carriers in 28 countries; the company expects to add 13 additional carriers by year's end.

London - Mobile Streams, a distributor of mobile music and media for cell phones, announced on Monday that it has acquired The Nickels Group, a Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based licensor and distributor of urban music.

Denver - On Command, a provider of in-room interactive entertainment to hotels, announced on Thursday that it has partnered with Mobile Streams to develop a mobile streaming service for its hotel partners.

Mobile Streams Acquires Cyoshi Mobile for $3.7 Million

London - Mobile Streams, a developer of mobile content delivery technology and publisher of mobile entertainment, announced on Thursday that it has acquired Hannover, Germany-based wireless entertainment firm Cyoshi Mobile for $3.7 million. Cyoshi has distributed mobile TV short-form animation such as "Happy Tree Friends" and "Suicidal Squirrels," as well as mobile Bible passages, in Europe through Vodafone, T-Mobile and Hutchison 3G. London-based Mobile Streams distributes ringtones, graphics, video clips and other content using its own Vuesia platform, which will now also be utilized by Cyoshi. "This complementary acquisition accelerates our strategy in several important ways -- it extends our operator distribution footprint from the U.K. across both continental and Eastern Europe while also accelerating our content strategy by adding compelling licensed content," said Mobile Streams CEO Simon Buckingham.

Oasys Mobile Adds Ringtones from Mobile Streams

Raleigh, N.C. - Mobile entertainment publisher Oasys Mobile said on Thursday that it has signed an agreement to offer ringtones from Mobile Streams on its OasysMobile.com portal. New York-based Mobile Streams offers polyphonic and master recording ringtones, in addition to comedy and sports mobile content in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and South America.

Mobile Entertainment Publisher Mobile Streams Plans London IPO

London - Mobile Streams, an international provider of entertainment content for mobile phones, announced that it is planning an initial public offering (IPO) on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market (AIM). The company made headlines earlier this week when it announced an alliance with Liberty Media, the U.S.-based cable and media investment group owned by John Malone. Liberty Media took a 22% stake in Mobile Streams worth more than $8.8 million. Mobile Streams said it planned to list its shares by the end of March and raise about $10.6 million with the offering.
