Video-Sharing Service Motionbox Lands $7 Million

New York - Motionbox, which bills itself as a family-oriented video-sharing site, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $7 million in its second round of funding, led by new investor Constellation Ventures.

Microsoft Corp. today announced that Don Mattrick, a former president at Electronic Arts Inc. (EA), will lead the Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB), which includes overseeing the Xbox(R) and Games for Windows(R) businesses. Peter Moore, who currently serves as corporate vice president of IEB, has decided to move his family back to the Bay Area for personal reasons and has secured another opportunity in the video games industry.

Motionbox Adds Deep-Tagging Feature for Online Videos

New York - Video-sharing service Motionbox announced on Wednesday that addition of a new deep-tagging feature, which allows users to tag selected portions inside of a video, sharing only the best parts with others. The feature lets Motionbox users mark specific moments inside a video and add descriptive keywords that apply just to those selected portions; the keywords are then made searchable across the Motionbox network. New York-based Motionbox raised $4.2 million in venture capital last week.

New York - Video-sharing service Motionbox announced on Wednesday that it has raised $4.2 million in its first round of venture capital financing. Investors participating in the round included Canaan Partners, SAS Investors and Japan's Itochu Corporation. New York-based Motionbox says its service makes it easier for less tech-savvy users to upload and share their personal videos online. The funds will be used for further product development and marketing efforts.

Local NBC Affiliate, MotionBox Launch Video-Sharing Site

Bala Cynwyd, Pa. - A local NBC affiliate in Pennsylvania announced on Thursday that it has partnered with MotionBox to launch an online video-sharing destination. NBC10.com is reaching out to viewers in Greater Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, South Jersey and Delaware, encouraging them to upload videos and share them with friends, and possibly see them aired during news broadcasts.
