- Mobile entertainment distributor mSpot on Wednesday launched mSpot Mobile
Movies, a service that streams full-length movies to "dozens" of
mobile phones from U.S.
carriers. Consumers can charge the $4.99 rental fee to their credit cards, and
then stream movies from partners including Paramount Studios and Universal
Studios Home Entertainment to an iPhone or other supported device. Initial
titles include "The Reader" and "The Fast and the Furious."

its first direct-to-consumer website, mSpot.com, which features a tool that
lets users edit, purchase and download custom ringtones. Currently available to
Sprint and AT&T customers, the $2.99 service counts an available library of
over 400,000 songs from EMI, Universal, Warner, Sony, INgrooves and IRIS.

San Antonio, Texas - AT&T (NYSE: T) said on Thursday that it will launch its delayed mobile TV service with partner MediaFLO USA, a unit of Qualcomm (NASD: QCOM), in May. The service will initially support two handsets: the LG Vu and Samsung Access. Separately, AT&T launched two new mobile music applications, and said it will expand its Napster Mobile (NASD: NAPS) over-the-air downloads. The company now offers mSpot's Make-UR-Tones and Remix, which lets users create custom ringtones from their phones, and download songs from their PCs to their phones, respectively. AT&T also said its Napster Mobile service will be available to more than 12 million customers, beginning this summer. New York - Universal Music Group's Island Def Jam Music Group has announced plans to launch a mobile radio subscription service powered by mSpot. The IDJ Radio service will charge an as yet undisclosed monthly fee, and eventually be available through multiple carriers. The service will focus on contemporary hip-hop/R&B, old school/classics, Reggaeton/Latin hip-hop and special programming by featured Island Def Jam artists and artists on other labels, and also offer on-demand videos. New York - CBS Radio announced on Monday that it partnered with mobile entertainment distributor mSpot to make three of its sports stations available to Sprint wireless subscribers. Mobile streaming of CBS Radio's WFAN-AM (New York), WSCR-AM (Chicago) and WIP-AM (Philadelphia) will now be accessible through mSpot Sports.

Overland Park, Kan. - Sprint on Monday launched a service that lets subscribers stream full-length movies on their cell phones. The company partnered with Palo Alto, Calif.-based MSpot to launch MSpot Movies, which for $6.95 per month will give subscribers mobile TV access to movies in seven genres, including "Short Circuit" and "Night of the Living Dead." The MSpot Movies will be streamed in individual chapters lasting five minutes each, with seven new films to be added each week. In addition to movies, the service will also offer TV shows like "Conan the Adventurer," and live concert performance videos from The Roots and My Chemical Romance. Sprint also offers its subscribers MSpot's mobile radio and music services.
