MuiscSingShot Launches Online Karaoke CommunityAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on July 31, 2006 - 12:30pm.
San Francisco - SingShot, a start-up digital music company founded by former RealNetworks employees who worked on the Rhapsody music service, on Monday announced the launch of their American Idol-style online karaoke community. The site lets users record their own karaoke versions of thousands of available songs and post them online; other users can then rate and comment on their recordings. SingShot performances can also be embedded into users' personal blogs and MySpace pages, and shared via e-mail. A two-week free trial of the service is available, after which time SingShot is available for between $4.95 and $9.95 per month, depending on the subscription plan.
