Music Choice Debuts Interactive TV Photo, Text Shout-outs

New York - Music Choice, a provider of music and video content on pay-TV and other platforms, on Tuesday introduced ShowOff, an interactive TV feature that lets viewers submit text message and photo "shout-outs" that will appear on-screen during programming. The feature will support submissions via mobile phone, email, AOL Instant Messenger, and a dedicated ShowOff Web page.

TiVo Adds Thousands of Music Videos From Music Choice

Alviso, Calif. - TiVo (NASD: TIVO) announced on Wednesday that it will add several thousand music videos and original programming from Music Choice to its TiVoCast service for broadband-connected TiVo boxes. Music Choice, a partnership between Microsoft, Motorola, Sony, EMI Music and several cable TV operators, provides digital audio and video music channels on cable TV services, the Internet and mobile platforms.

Music Choice Licenses EMI Music Videos for TV, Online

New York - Music Choice, a provider of digital music services for cable TV providers and mobile carriers, announced on Tuesday that it has signed a licensing agreement with major label EMI Music, giving it the rights to stream EMI's entire music video library on TV and online in the U.S. The videos will be available through Music Choice's free on-demand network from cable operators, and its free online music service for broadband subscribers.

Clear Channel Radio, Music Choice, Comcast Team on Local VOD Show

Chicago - Clear Channel Radio said on Thursday that it has teamed with cable TV provider Comcast and Music Choice to launch a music video countdown show hosted by local Chicago radio personalities. "Video 6 Pack" will be hosted by Crazy Howard McGee or Tony Sculfield, both of Clear Channel's WGCI-FM, and will be offered on Music Choice's free video-on-demand service for Chicago-area Comcast subscribers.

TiVo Extends TiVoToGo Service to Mac Users

Las Vegas - TiVo announced on Monday that it has expanded the availability of its TiVoToGo service to Mac users. Through a partnership with software developer Roxio, a unit of Sonic Solutions, TiVo users will now be able to transfer their recorded shows to watch on a Mac. TiVoToGo for the Mac will be available later this month for $99. Separately, TiVo said it has partnered with Music Choice, a provider of digital music programming to cable TV providers. Under the deal, TiVo will offer Music Choice's library of music videos and original video programming to TiVo subscribers via the broadband TiVoCast service, beginning later this year.

New York - Music Choice, a provider of digital audio and video services to cable and satellite TV operators, announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement to add Universal Music Group's music video library to its broadband music service. Under the deal, the music videos will only be available through the online version of Music Choice's service, which also offers commercial-free radio channels, music news and interviews.

Music Choice: On-Demand Music Videos Surpass 200 Million Views

Horsham, Penn. - Music Choice, a provider of digital audio and music video channels to cable TV providers, announced on Monday that its Music Choice On Demand video-on-demand service has surpassed 200 million views since launching with Comcast last November. The service, which now averages over 20 million views per month, offers free music videos, concerts, in-studio performances and interviews produced by Music Choice. Music Choice said that Ciara's video for "1, 2, Step" is the top video on the service, with nearly four million on-demand viewings.

Music Choice Expands Agreement with Cox

New York - Music Choice, a provider of digital music audio and video channels to cable and satellite TV providers, announced on Monday an agreement to enhance the content it provides to Cox, the nation's third-largest cable TV provider. Beginning in January, Cox digital cable subscribers will have access to Music Choice On-Demand, which includes hundreds of music videos, concerts, studio performances and artist interviews at no additional charge.

Sprint, Music Choice Partner on Streaming Music Service for Cell Phones

Overland Park, Kan. -- Wireless network operator Sprint has announced the launch of a streaming music service for cell phones, through a partnership with New York-based Music Choice, which provides digital music channels to cable TV and broadband providers. In addition to a range of commercial-free streaming music channels, the service will offer daily video clips of artist interviews and performances, as well as music news and artist gossip. The Sprint Music Choice service will be offered as part of a Sprint TV package for $9.99, or on its own for $5.95 per month.

Horsham, Pa. -- Music Choice, a provider of pre-programmed digital music channels that play on cable TV systems, announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with the Napster music download store to offer users of a soon-to-launch new service the ability to download tracks or albums they hear directly from the service. Music Choice Broadband, scheduled to launch early next year, will deliver broadband digital music channels to its cable TV operator partners to offer to their cable modem broadband Internet customers. The service will deliver music via satellite multicast, rather than over the Internet. When a song available on Napster plays on the new service, users will see a "Download Now" button where they can connect to Napster and purchase and download the track or album.

Music Choice, Record Industry Groups Reach Settlement on Music Royalties

Horsham, Penn. -- Music Choice, a provider of digital music programming to cable and satellite TV operators, announced on Friday that it has reached a joint settlement with key music industry groups for royalty rates and terms through 2007, averting the need for a federal arbitration proceeding. Parties to the settlement, which will apply to the period between Jan. 1, 2002 and Dec. 31, 2007, included the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), and American Federation of Musicians (AFM). Terms of the settlement will also apply to fellow music subscription services DMX Music and Muzak. The U.S. Copyright Office must now officially ratify the terms of the agreement before SoundExchange, a recording industry entity, may begin collecting royalties and distributing them to artists, record companies and other copyright holders
