Los Angeles - Live Nation, one of the nation's largest concert promoters and venue owners, announced on Monday that it has completed its $354 million acquisition of House of Blues.
The U.S. Department of Justice cleared the acquisition on Oct. 27. Founded in 1999, Ecast operates a network of more than 8,000 Internet-connected digital jukeboxes. The company will use the funds to expand its sales channel, target new markets, increase research and development and to supplement sales and marketing efforts.

San Mateo, Calif. - YouTube, the popular site that allows people to watch and share original videos, said on Monday that it has signed a major new deal with Warner Music Group. Under the agreement, YouTube will distribute music videos from Warner's roster of artists, as well as behind-the-scenes footage, artist interviews, original programming and other special content. YouTube users also will be able to incorporate music from Warner's catalog into the videos they create and upload onto the site. The two companies will share advertising revenue from both the music videos and user-uploaded content incorporating Warner's audio. Warner's music and other content will launch on the site simultaneously with YouTube's new content identification and royalty reporting system, expected go live by the end of this year.

New York - Warner Music Group announced on Monday that it has licensed its tracks for streaming and limited downloading on Brilliant Technologies' Qtrax, an ad-supported free file-sharing network. Qtrax has also licensed songs from EMI, BMI and the Association of Independent Music. "The Qtrax service represents an innovative business model, one that offers our artists another way to reach fans using the potential of peer-to-peer technology while ensuring they are fairly compensated for the use of their work, said George White, senior vice president of strategy and product development for WMG. The Qtrax ad-supported file-sharing service -- which will use audio fingerprinting technology from Audible Magic to ensure only licensed tracks are shared -- is scheduled to launch in beta later this year.
