London - Following the major label's announcement yesterday that it would provide DRM-free music for sale on retail giant Amazon.com's forthcoming digital music store, EMI Music said that it has additionally signed deals to provide its artists' tracks free of digital rights management to other European retailers. Stockholm - Musicbrigade, a Sweden-based digital music service provider, announced on Wednesday the launch of an online digital music service in Germany with partner RTL.de, an entertainment portal operated by the European TV broadcaster. The service will offer 1.5 million songs, licensed from all the major labels and many independents, in addition to Musicbrigade's catalog of more than 20,000 music videos. The companies said the joint service will be promoted with an extensive TV and online ad campaign. Stockholm, Sweden - Musicbrigade, a Sweden-based digital distributor of music videos, announced that it has received a $4.1 million investment from IT Provider Funds. Launched in 1999, Musicbrigade has licensed music videos and songs from the major labels, and distributes them both online and to mobile phones in Europe through partners including Telenor, Telewest/NTL, 3 and Vodafone. The company said the funds will help to accelerate its European expansion.
