NAVTEQ Acquires Location-based Mobile Ad Firm Acuity

Greenbelt, Md. - Acuity Mobile, a developer of mobile marketing technology, said that it has been acquired by NAVTEQ, a Chicago-based unit of Nokia (NYSE: NOK) that provides digital map, traffic and location data used in vehicle navigation systems.

San Mateo, Calif. - Zvents, the provider of local search engine and paid listings ad network, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $24 million in additional funding from new investors including Nokia Growth Partners, NAVTEQ and AT&T.

Espoo, Finland - Nokia announced on Monday that it will acquire Navteq, a provider of digital map information used in car, mobile and Internet-based applications, in a deal valued at $8.1 billion.

Washington - NAVTEQ, a Chicago-based producer of digital maps for vehicle navigation and location-based devices, said on Wednesday that it will pay $37.5 million in cash to acquire The Map Network, a DC-based producer of maps for travel destinations, special events and major hotels.
