Los Angeles - News Corp.'s (NYSE: NWS) MySpace online social network announced on Thursday the addition of a number of independent music distributors to its nascent MySpace Music service. The deals with Nettwerk Music Group, INgrooves, IRIS Distribution and RoyaltyShare, along with Wind-up Records, will add several hundred thousand songs to the catalog available on MySpace Music.

San Francisco - Music-focused social network imeem said on Friday that it has partnered with Canada's Nettwerk Music Group, a privately owned record label and artist management company. Through the deal, Nettwerk's entire audio and video digital catalog is available for streaming on imeem, including artists such as Avril Lavigne, Barenaked Ladies, Dido, Sum 41 and Sarah McLachlan.

Franklin, Tenn. - PassAlong Networks, an operator and provider of digital music services, announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with e-commerce firm Digonex Technologies and independent label Nettwerk Music Group to test a digital music store that will offer variably-priced MP3s.

Mountain View, Calif. - Fliptrack on Wednesday introduced its online service that allows users to create personal music videos, and announced a partnership with Nettwerk Music Group on a promotion that lets users create a music video for the Barenaked Ladies. Mountain View, Calif.-based Fliptrack's service asks users to pick a song from its library; a wizard interface then automatically matches user photos to song rhythms. Text, effects and transitions can be added to the video, which when finished may be embedded on MySpace or other sites.
