New York -- Clear Channel Radio, the nation's largest radio station owner, announced on Tuesday that its Online Music & Radio unit has launched new on-demand programming on its radio station websites that will showcase new and developing artists. The sites, which will be promoted on-air, will feature 16 new artists each quarter, offering five streaming songs and an artist-produced video segment, in addition to a link to each artist's website. In addition, the company partnered with independent artist community GarageBand.com, which will be able to feature 50 of its artists on Clear Channel radio station sites. Clear Channel said that labels participating in the new artist promotions include Atlantic, Capitol, Columbia, Def Jam, Lava, Manhattan, RMG, Rounder, Sony/BMG, Virgin, Warner Bros. and Wind-Up. Initial artists to be promoted through the initiative include Antigone Rising, James Blunt, the Shout Out Louds and the Veronicas.
