Agoura Hills, Calif. - Video game publisher THQ (NASD: THQI) said on Thursday that it is developing "Journey to the Center of the Earth" for the Nintendo DS, based on the forthcoming digital 3D film from New Line Cinema. The game is slated for release in July alongside the film, which will figure as the first digital 3D live-action movie. San Francisco - Japanese game developer Sega announced on Tuesday that it is developing a title based on "The Golden Compass," the first book in author Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" trilogy and forthcoming movie from New Line Cinema. Sega said Shiny Entertainment is developing the game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo Wii and the PC, while A2M is creating the Nintendo DS version. New York - Interactive TV games developer PixelPlay announced on Wednesday that it partnered with New Line Cinema to launch an interactive game for the studio's upcoming film "How to Eat Fried Worms." The application lets users create their own songs by mixing tracks from a selection of 50 from Pump Audio.
