New York - The New York Times Co. on Monday launched an online syndication marketplace, where users can purchase news articles, images and multimedia from The Times and more than 100 other content providers. The NYTSYN.com service provides more than 250 articles daily.

New York - The New York Times Company (NYSE: NYT) announced on Wednesday that it has retained Goldman Sachs as financial advisor to explore the possible sale of its stake in New England Sports Ventures, which includes the Boston Red Sox, Fenway Park and 80% of New England Sports Network.

Boston - The New York Times Co. (NYSE: NYT) said on Monday that it has reached an agreement with publisher GateHouse Media, which accused the company of copyright and trademark infringement.

Mexican Billionaire Invests $250 Million in New York Times Co.

New York - The New York Times Co. (NYSE: NYT) has received a $250 million cash investment from Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helu, which the company will use to help refinance its existing debt. The investment follows Slim's purchase of a 6.9% stake in the company for about $127 million in September.

New York - The New York Times Co. (NYSE: NYT) plans to borrow up to $225 million against its mid-Manhattan headquarters building, "to ease a potential cash flow squeeze as the company grapples with tighter credit and shrinking profits," the company announced on Monday.

Major Newspaper Publishers Team on Online Ad Network

McLean, Va. - Attempting to boost their sagging ad revenue, four of the nation's largest newspaper publishers -- including Gannett (NYSE: GCI), Tribune (NYSE: TXA), Hearst and The New York Times Co. (NYSE: NYT) -- said on Friday that they will team to launch their own online ad sales network. The network, called quadrantONE, will work in a similar fashion to a networks launched last year by Yahoo and a group of newspapers, allowing national advertisers to buy space on more than 120 newspaper websites.
