Newseum Posts World's Papers' Inauguration Front Pages

Washington - The Newseum news museum in Washington on Wednesday posted more than 700 front pages from newspapers around the world that covered the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Images of all the pages are available at the link below. More than 100 of the pages also are on display at the Newseum's Pennsylvania Avenue entrance.

USA Today Editor to Become President of Newseum

Washington - Kenneth Paulson, the editor and senior vice president of news of USA Today, will leave the McLean-based newspaper early next year to become the president and COO of Washington, DC's Newseum and its primary backer, the Freedom Forum. He will succeed Peter Prichard, who will work on special projects for a year before retiring. Prichard also served as the editor of USA Today before joining the Freedom Forum and Newseum 12 years ago. Paulson was named the editor of USA Today in 2004, and previously had served as executive director of the First Amendment Center and senior vice president of the Freedom Forum.

Newseum Lands $15 Million in Funding from Annenberg Foundation

Washington - The Newseum, a 250,000-square-foot news museum scheduled to open near the National Mall in October, said that it has received a $15 million funding commitment from the Annenberg Foundation.

Newseum News Museum Gets $5 Million Pledge for Theater

Washington - The Newseum, a 250,000-square-foot news museum scheduled to open near the National Mall in October, said that it has received a $5 million pledge from Robert H. and Clarice Smith to sponsor its Big Screen Theater. The 3,500-square-foot theater, which will bear the Smiths' name in recognition of their gift, will present historic newscasts, original documentaries and breaking news on a 100-foot-long video wall.

Newseum Lands $6 Million Sponsorship from Cox Enterprises

Washington - The Newseum, a 250,000-square-foot news museum scheduled to open near the National Mall in October, said that it has landed a $6 million sponsorship from Atlanta-based media giant Cox Enterprises and the James M. Cox Foundation.
