Milan, Italy - Nokia (NYSE: NOK) on Wednesday announced the launch of its Nokia Music Store in Italy, boasting a catalog of more than 4 million songs from all four major labels and many independents. The company said that 54% of the music offered in its Italian store is local, and offers tracks from local labels including Sugar, Carosello, Universo and Edel. Espoo, Finland - Nokia (NYSE: NOK) plans to launch another Nokia Music Store in Australia next week, which at launch will offer 2.5 million tracks from all the majors except for Warner Music, along with a number of Australian independent labels. Amsterdam - Nokia (NYSE: NOK) on Tuesday announced the launch of a version of its Nokia Music Store in the Netherlands. Users can pay 1 euro per track or 10 euros per album for DRM-protected downloads that can be transferred between a PC and their Nokia devices, or subscribe to a PC streaming service for 10 euros per month. Nokia has also launched versions of its Nokia Music Store in the U.K., Germany, Finland, Ireland and Italy, and says it will expand to additional countries throughout the year. Dublin, Ireland - Nokia (NYSE: NOK) on Wednesday launched its Nokia Music Store in Ireland, offering 2.5 million tracks that can be browsed and purchased either via PC or a mobile device. Nokia said it plans to highlight and offer recommendations of local artists such as Glen Hansard (from the film "Once"), the Coronas and Cathy Davey on the service. London - Nokia (NYSE: NOK) on Monday announced that it has partnered with European wireless broadband operator The Cloud, on a deal that will provide free Wi-Fi access to Nokia device owners connecting to the online Nokia Music Store from The Cloud's 7,500 Wi-Fi hotspots. The store is currently compatible with the Nokia N81 and Nokia N95 8GB, and can also be accessed via PC.
