Interactive TV Firm NTN Buzztime Loses Chariman, Interim CEO

Carlsbad, Calif. - NTN Buzztime, a provider of interactive TV trivia games in bars and restaurants, announced on Friday that Michael Fleming has resigned as the company's interim CEO, chairman and board director. The company named recent board addition Jeff Berg as its new chairman, and said its board has created a search committee to evaluate qualified candidates for the role of permanent CEO.

NTN Buzztime Sees $2 Million from Sale of Wireless Unit

Carlsbad, Calif. - NTN Buzztime, a provider of interactive TV trivia games found in bars and restaurants, announced on Friday that it has sold its NTN Wireless Communications unit to HM Electronics. The company expects to see $2 million in proceeds from the deal. The unit, which provides wireless solutions to improve efficiency and customer service, generated $6.1 million in revenue in 2006. Carlsbad, Calif.-based NTN said the sale is in line with its plan to narrow the scope of its business to its core entertainment division.

Teemu Huuhtanen - SulakeSulake, an interactive entertainment company and creator of Habbo Hotel, announced today that Teemu Huuhtanen has been promoted to the position of President, North America and Executive Vice President, Business Development for Sulake Corporation. Previously Huuhtanen held the position of SVP of Sales and Business Development and had served as VP, Sales & Marketing, for Sulake at its headquarters in Finland since January of 2003.

The Diffusion Group, a digital home and new media research consultancy, has added two industry consultants, Michael Fischer and Nicholas Givotovsky and to its staff of consultants and analysts. In his last role as Director of Products and Programming for Comcast, Fischer was responsible for digital cable, programming and high-speed Internet.

Carlsbad, Calif. - NTN Buzztime, a provider of interactive TV games in bars and restaurants, and on cable TV systems, announced on Friday that it plans to introduce cross-platform games that allow players to compete using either their TV remote controls or a PC. Carlsbad, Calif.-based Buzztime's single and multiplayer interactive TV games are currently available to 300,000 subscribers, from providers including Time Warner and Comcast; the company's games are also offered in over 4,000 restaurants and bars.
