Alltel Taps nuTsie for Mobile Access to iTunes Playlists

Little Rock, Ark. - Mobile network operator Alltel Wireless announced on Wednesday that it has added a mobile music service from nuTsie that will let subscribers listen to playlists from their iTunes libraries on their phones. Available for $4.99 per month or $19.99 annually, the nuTsie service also allows subscribers to listen to other nuTsie users' iTunes playlists.

Mobile Music Firm Melodeo Lands $7.9 Million

Seattle - Melodeo, a provider of on-demand audio and video programming for the Web and mobile platforms, has raised $7.9 million in its third round of funding, led by Ignition Partners and Voyager Capital.

Seattle - Melodeo, a provider of music and video delivery technology for mobile phones, on Tuesday announced a new service that lets users listen to their entire iTunes library on their mobile phones. The nuTsie service works by referencing an iTunes library and then streaming the same tracks from the company's servers to a mobile phone. A free public beta is available today; Melodeo told Reuters it plans to officially launch nuTsie by September, and may eventually charge monthly or application fees, or insert audio ads.
