New York-based Ziff Davis Acquires Developer Shed

New York - Ziff Davis Enterprise, a New York-based media company for the technology industry, has acquired Developer Shed, an Ohio-based network of websites for IT developers. Jonathan Caputo, founder and chief CEO of Developer Shed, will assume the role of COO and president of Internet Operations of the new entity. The merger occurs simultaneously with the completion of Ziff Davis Enterprise's spin out from Ziff Davis Media.

The Brand New Heavies

The Brand New Heavies reached their pinnacle in the early 90’s as one of the better acid jazz outfits, though some of their best work has been playing backup to Hip Hop acts such as Q-Tip, Gangstar and The Pharcyde. Walking into the venue, instead of an opening act, the PA system is playing Rob Base. The crowd is already dancing. Things look positive.  Forty minutes after the concert was set to begin, filled with music that would have been played at a cool junior high dance in my day (again good nostalgia), the band starts.

New York - The FBI raided the operations of two alleged international movie piracy operations in the New York City area on Wednesday, that were responsible for "millions of dollars" in lost Hollywood profits, a federal law enforcement official told the Associated Press.

Germantown, Md. - Telkonet, a provider of in-building broadband access over existing electrical wiring, said on Tuesday that it has begun testing its NuVisions Internet television (IPTV) service in New York City.
