- Palm (NASD: PALM) has signed deals with European mobile operator Telefonica's O2 and
Movistar to offer its Pre smartphone, Reuters reported. Beginning in the fall,
O2 will sell the Pre in the U.K.,
Ireland and Germany, while Movistar will get exclusive
distribution in Spain.
Palm also partnered with Bell Mobility to sell the Pre in Canada in the
second half of 2009.

provider of digital media broadcasting and distribution services, announced on Wednesday
that it has signed licensing deals with all four major labels, for the rights
to record and distribute live concerts from London's O2 stadium and indigo2 venues. The
deal includes online, digital TV and mobile rights. New Stream also produces
"Live at indigo2," a live concert series broadcast on ITV2 and made
available for purchase and download via 7digital.com.

Los Angeles - Apple (NASD: AAPL) will
begin selling its iPhone 3G under a pay-as-you-go plan in the U.K. later this
month with retail partners O2 and Carphone Warehouse, The Register reports. The
8GB iPhone 3G will sell for around $624, or about $90 less than the 16GB
version. A year of unlimited data usage is included, after which time users
must pay an extra $17.82 per month. Meanwhile, Reuters reports that Russia's third-largest network operator,
MegaFon, has signed a deal to distribute the iPhone in Russia, joining previously
announced network partners Vimpelcom and MTS.

"With the first deployment in Europe of HSDPA, the launch of i-mode in the U.K. and Ireland, coupled with our mobile TV trial in Oxford, O2 will gain invaluable insights into how to extend our multimedia services in order to enhance people's lives and develop applications that they are willing to pay for," said O2 CTO Dave Williams.
