Mobile Content Publisher Oasys Mobile Files for Bankruptcy

Raleigh, N.C. - Oasys Mobile, a provider of content over mobile devices, announced on Thursday that it has filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Oasys to Develop Mobile Versions of 2K's Sid Meier Games

Raleigh, N.C. - Mobile game publisher Oasys Mobile has signed a deal with Take-Two Interactive's 2K Games unit, to develop mobile versions of several Sid Meier titles. Oasys' mobile "Sid Meier's Civilization IV," "Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon" and "Sid Meier's Pirates" are slated for release in 2008.

The AOL Europe President, Carlo d'Asaro Biondo (pictured), is leaving the company after just six weeks in the role. Biondo, previously the Chief Executive of AOL France, was appointed in November and was AOL Europe's third president this year. Philip Rowley, the Chairman of AOL Europe, will take over Biondo's responsibilities temporarily, but the long-term succession plans for the Time Warner subsidiary are unclear. This is reported by Guardian Unlimited.

Oasys Mobile Adds Ringtones from Mobile Streams

Raleigh, N.C. - Mobile entertainment publisher Oasys Mobile said on Thursday that it has signed an agreement to offer ringtones from Mobile Streams on its OasysMobile.com portal. New York-based Mobile Streams offers polyphonic and master recording ringtones, in addition to comedy and sports mobile content in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and South America.

Oasys Mobile Adds 600 Mobile Game Titles from Selatra

Raleigh, N.C. - Mobile entertainment publisher Oasys Mobile said on Wednesday that it has partnered with fellow mobile entertainment publisher Selatra, to offer 600 of Selatra's mobile game titles on its OasysMobile.com portal. Titles in Selatra's catalog include "SuperDoku," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Bruce Lee" and "Yahtzee".
