Aniboom to Develop Series Based on I-play Casual Games

San Francisco - Independent animation network Aniboom said on Monday that it has partnered with casual games publisher I-play to develop animated serial content for mobile, online and television based on I-play's most popular games. The first series in development is based on "Turbo Subs," a restaurant franchise-building game that counts millions of downloads.

New York - Casual game publisher Oberon Media said on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with author James Patterson, to develop and publish multi-platform game franchises based on the fiction novelist's best-selling titles and popular characters. Additionally, publishing company Elephant Entertainment has signed on to distribute the titles at retail.

Casual Games Firm Oberon Acquires I-play for About $110 Million

New York - Oberon Media, a publisher and distributor of casual games, announced on Thursday that it has acquired I-play, a developer of casual mobile games. While financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, Israel's Globes Online reported that Oberon will pay $110-120 million for London-based I-play, which was founded in 1998.
