- Omnifone, a U.K.-based provider of branded digital music services, has
announced the launch of a new unlimited music download and streaming service,
MusicStation Next Generation, which will offer consumers the ability to bundle
the cost with their Internet service provider bill, or pay as they go. The company
has deals with all four major labels and "thousands" of independents
for the service, which will be available on Mac, PC and set-top box platforms. Omnifone
head Rob Lewis told Music Ally the company is in advanced talks with U.K.
broadcaster Sky to be the first customer.

Las Vegas - Gracenote, a provider of music identification technology, announced on Thursday that it has partnered with Omnifone, a provider of unlimited music download service, to develop a means of synchronizing a user's personal music collection with Omnifone's service across multiple devices. Los Angeles - Wireless carrier Vodafone's Australian unit on Monday announced the launch of its MusicStation unlimited mobile music service, the first such offering to be made available in the country. The service offers unlimited access to a catalog of over one million tracks from all the major labels and a range of independents for a flat fee of $2.75 per week. London - Mobile network operator Vodafone UK (NYSE: VOD) has announced the launch of a new mobile music store, Vodafone Music, which allows users to download songs a la carte over-the-air to their phones.
