SXSW, ON Networks Create Award for Best Original Web Series

Austin, Texas - The South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival announced on Monday that it has partnered with ON Networks, a distributor of original, HD shows across multiple digital platforms, to create the Greenlight Awards, "a competition aimed at discovering the next great, original and episodic digital series." Submissions will be reviewed from December through Feb. 15; the winner, who will be awarded $10,000 and a distribution deal through ON Networks, will be announced during the festival, which runs March 7-15.

On-Demand HD Content Firm On Networks Raises $12 Million

San Francisco - On Networks, a producer and distributor of original, on-demand HD programming, announce on Wednesday that it has raised $12 million in its second round of funding, led by Accel Partners.

Ad Agencies to Test ON Networks Content-Based Video Ads

Austin - ON Networks, a provider of original, episodic HD shows across the Web, TV and mobile devices, said on Thursday that a number of ad agencies have joined a pilot program of its content-based advertising service. Carmichael Lynch, TPN, GSD&M's Idea City, Critical Mass and SicolaMartin will test the ON ads, which encompass "presented by" sponsorships, interactive in-video surveys, and click-to-purchase and click-to-learn messages that appear on the bottom of the screen.
