OurStage to Offer Bands Opening Slots at Live Nation Gigs

Los Angeles - OurStage, a site that allows unsigned musicians to upload music and fans to vote for their favorites, has announced the launch of a new Marketplace tool, which will allow concert promoters and venue owners to search the site for new acts to book. As part of the launch, OurStage partnered with Live Nation (NYSE: LYV), which will offer opening band slots at 300 of its events to bands on OurStage.

Boston - OurStage, an online competition for aspiring musicians, filmmakers and comedians, has raised $13 million in new financing from over 100 angel investors, Tech Confidential reported.

AOL Music Adds Indie Music Content from OurStage

Boston - OurStage, a Boston-based website for independent musicians and fans, has announced a strategic partnership with AOL Music that will extend the reach of OurStage's independent music content to AOL Music. Under the agreement, OurStage will provide content, including new music by top-ranked artists on its site, interviews, streaming audio, and videos for distribution on AOL Music. In addition, AOL's Platform A will become the exclusive ad-serving network for OurStage.com.

Joost Adds Indie Video, Music Content from OurStage

Los Angeles - Joost, the streaming TV service, this week added four channels from independent film and music content from OurStage to its offering. OurStage lets creators upload their video and music content, which users can browse, buy and rate.

OurStage Debuts Web Competition for Musicians, Filmmakers

Boston - OurStage, an online competition for emerging music and film talent, on Wednesday emerged from beta and launched Artist Access, a mentoring program that will provide users with advice from established artists including John Legend, John Cameron Mitchell and David Burke. Top-ranked artists on OurStage, as chosen by site users, will win individual meetings with mentors and live performance opportunities. Alternative hip-hop band G. Love and Special Sauce will be selecting one OurStage artist to perform as the opening act at three of their fall concerts. The site will also feature interviews offering tips for aspiring artists, from bands including Blonde Redhead, Crystal Method and Shout Out Out Out Out.
