News Corp./NBC Universal Video Venture Signs New Content Deals

New York - News Corporation and NBC Universal said on Wednesday that their as-yet-unnamed digital distribution joint venture has signed a raft of deals with new content partners, including Fuel TV, Oxygen, Speed, Sundance Channel and TV Guide. The video destination and distribution network, set to launch this summer, will offer full-length shows, clips and movies through distribution partners including AOL, MSN, MySpace, Yahoo, Comcast and CNET.

Oxygen to Launch Online Social Network, Broadband Site

Los Angeles - The Oxygen cable network has announced plans to launch a number of new websites to complement its on-air content, including an online social network. Oomph.net will serve as a social network for women, while SheDidWhat.tv will be a broadband entertainment site that will host content including an original Oxygen broadband series, "Our Bodies, Myself."

Blip.tv Licenses User-Generated Video Software to CNN, Oxygen

New York - Internet TV firm Blip.tv announced on Tuesday that it has licensed its software to CNN, Oxygen Network and the William Shatner DVD Club, which will use the technology to allow users to upload and share videos on their respective sites. New York-based Blip.tv is powering CNN's new "CNN Exchange" citizen journalist upload site, and enabled Oxygen viewers and Shatner DVD Club members to submit videos for various contests.
