Mobile App Creates Painters' Renderings from Camera Phone Photos

Barcelona - Softhouse Crossmedia Avenue, a Swedish developer of mobile multimedia software, on Tuesday introduced its Painter application, which converts portrait photos taken with a camera phone into a rendering of the portrait in the style of painters including Picasso, Rembrandt or Botticelli. Softhouse's Painter is one of six similar camera phone picture-altering applications offered by the company, which include filters that will age a portrait 40 years or create a manga cartoon version of the portrait.
