Pando Hits 10 Million Installs of Peer-to-Peer File-Sharing Software

New York - Pando Networks, a provider of peer-to-peer content distribution technology, said on Tuesday that its free application has now been installed 10 million times since it was launched 14 months ago. The application, which is now averaging more than 40,000 new installations daily, allows general file-sharing and also enables commercial content owners and media companies to stream and download full-screen, HD-quality video to consumers.

Peer-to-Peer Developer Pando Networks Raises $7 Million

Santa Clara, Calif. - Intel Capital, the Venture arm of chipmaker Intel, has led a new $7 million funding round for New York-based Pando Networks, developer of a peer-to-peer distribution network for consumers' digital media. Pando said that the investment will support the launch of its first consumer offering, a network for sharing personal media, such as home movies, family photos and business presentations that are too large to send through email. The system runs through a free, downloadable application.
