NFL Drops CBS SportsLine as Producer of NFL.com

Miami - The National Football League (NFL) has opted to take over the production of its NFL.com website from CBS SportsLine, ending a six-year relationship, the Miami Herald reported. ''It was a great run with SportsLine, but we felt it was time to look long term," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Herald. The decision not to renew Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based SportsLine's contract was made at a league owners' meeting in New Orleans on Monday.

Vocus Launches Billboard Publicity Wire

Lanham, Md. - Vocus, a developer of public relations software and operator of the PRWeb service, said on Tuesday that it has teamed with music industry trade publication Billboard to launch a new press release service focused on entertainment and music promotion. Vocus said that the wire service uses various techniques to direct press release readers to artists' websites.

Muze, Fox's IGN Partner on Video Game Information Database

New York - Muze, a provider of informational databases on music, movies, books and video games, announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement with Fox Interactive Media's IGN video games site to create a jointly-owned video game database.

Electronic Arts, Nokia to Collaborate on Mobile Phone Games

Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts announced on Tuesday a partnership with cell phone maker Nokia, to distribute mobile games through Nokia's network of shopping mall retail locations. EA mobile games including "Tetris," "The Sims," "FIFA 06" and "Doom" will be made available in the fall. Beginning in mid-2007, EA will also develop custom-designed versions of its top games for Nokia mobile devices.

Squeezebox Internet Music Player Offers Free Rhapsody Trial

Mountain View, Calif. - Slim Devices, makers of the Squeezebox standalone Internet music player, announced on Thursday that it partnered with RealNetworks to allow subscribers to access 2 million tracks from the company's Rhapsody music service on the Squeezebox.
