Ticketmaster Settles With N.J. AG Over Springsteen Incident

Los Angeles - Ticketmaster Entertainment (NASD: TKTM) has settled charges brought by the New Jersey Attorney General that it shunted ticketbuyers from its flagship site to an auction site where tickets sold for far above face value, Billboard reported. The company will pay $350,000 to cover fees associated with the AG's investigation, and also agreed to stop linking customers to its TicketsNow secondary ticketing auction site for at least one year.

Washington - Bruce Springsteen this week blasted Ticketmaster (NASD: TKTM) for redirecting fans trying to purchase tickets for his upcoming tour -- including his May 18 show at the Verizon Center -- to its TicketsNow site, which sells seats above face value. "They did this even when other seats remained available at face value," wrote Springsteen in an open letter to fans. "We condemn this practice... We perceive this as a pure conflict of interest."

Springsteen to Offer Two Free Tracks for "Guitar Hero"

Santa Monica, Calif. - Video game publisher Activision (NASD: ATVI) said on Tuesday that Bruce Springsteen will make two songs available for purchase and download for play with its "Guitar Hero: World Tour" game. "My Lucky Day," a track of Springsteen's forthcoming record, along with "Born to Run," will be released alongside the new album on Jan. 27; the tracks will be free to download during the first week of the album's release.

New York - Radio giant Clear Channel announced on Tuesday that it is offering an exclusive streaming preview of Bruce Springsteen's new album, which features 13 Pete Seeger cover tunes, on 390 of its websites. The streaming Springsteen will be available through Thursday from Clear Channel AAA, news/talk and classic rock radio station websites.
