David Letterman Grills Paris HiltonAuthored by Scott Goldberg on September 30, 2007 - 4:09pm.
On the Late Show last Friday, David Letterman conducted the post-jail Paris Hilton interview that Larry King couldn't muster. It was exactly what we had waited for since her release. He began with a series of sarcastic questions: “Good to be back in New York?” and “Which do you prefer, New York City or Los Angeles?” She answers: “I like both. I like the weather in LA better, but I love New York.” She’s comfortable and enjoying the attention. But you can sense the time bomb. It’s ticking. Letterman wants to drop the hammer.

Checking in to the Century Regional Detention Facility a day earlier than expected, Paris Hilton took one more shot for the cameras following her appearance at the MTV Movie Awards. You'd be forgiven for confusing it with one from the red carpet. But no, it's the mugshot, and quite unlike any we've ever seen. Hey, if you've got to take one, why not do it like this? I'm not sure how to interpret it, but she actually looks pretty relaxed. One inmate, Susannah Johnson, who was released from the jail yesterday, said, "The only advice I could give her when she comes is to shut her mouth and do the time." Sounds like fun.

The PR-machine known as Paris Hilton just released the reggae influenced single “Stars are Blind”. It remains to be seen if it will fly off the shelves as fast as her X-rated home video. Another reality TV star skilled in the art of PR who just released a single is newly divorced Jessica Simpson. The single is called “A Public Affair” and sounds like early Madonna pop.
