London - Disney plans to triple the amount it spends on video game development, the company's chief financial officer said on Friday, Reuters reported.

Burbank, Calif. - Disney Interactive Studios on Monday announced a location-based feature for its "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" game for Nintendo DS, that will allow visitors to its theme parks who bring a DS loaded with the game to download new game content at hotspots hidden near the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions. The download unlocks new content such as unlimited health and "savvy," as well as additional costumes.

It is official, the Disney movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", has had the most successful opening weekend in Box Office history. In a time when people are talking about the demise of “Old Media” and the slump at the box office, “Pirates” comes along and grosses $136 million over three days in the US and Canada.
