This year I bet you’ll see a lot of Hannah Montana and Pirate costumes, since they are the most popular “Halloween costume” search terms in the U. S., according to Hitwise, the online competitive intelligence service. A newcomer costume people are looking for online is “Master Chief”, riding on the back of Microsoft Xbox’s  blockbuster videogame “Halo 3”.

London - Disney plans to triple the amount it spends on video game development, the company's chief financial officer said on Friday, Reuters reported.

Disney Offers Downloadable "Pirates" DS Game Content in Theme Parks

Burbank, Calif. - Disney Interactive Studios on Monday announced a location-based feature for its "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" game for Nintendo DS, that will allow visitors to its theme parks who bring a DS loaded with the game to download new game content at hotspots hidden near the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions. The download unlocks new content such as unlimited health and "savvy," as well as additional costumes.

In a time when people are talking about the demise of “Old Media” and the slump at the box office, “Pirates” comes along and grosses $136 million over three days in the US and Canada.

Bethesda Softworks Signs Johnny Depp to Voice "Pirates" Video Game

Rockville, Md. - Independent video game publisher Bethesda Softworks announced on Friday that it has signed actor Johnny Depp to provide the voice of Captain Jack Sparrow for its "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow" title for PlayStation 2 and the PC.
