Santa Monica, Calif. - Demand Media, a provider of social media tools including Pluck, announced on Tuesday it has made a strategic investment and acquired a minority stake in CoveritLive, a provider of live event blogging tools.

London - British Sky Broadcasting said on Tuesday that it will incorporate social media tools from Pluck across its websites, including Sky.com and SkyNews.com. The new functionality will enable multimedia blogs and discussion forums, and cross-site user profiling. Pluck provides similar services to publishers including Gannett, Reuters and WashingtonPost.com.

Pluck to Power Social Media on RollingStone.com, Film.com

Austin - Pluck, a provider of social media services for media companies, brand marketers and others, said on Thursday that it is now powering social media capabilities on RollingStone.com and Film.com. Pluck will power the sites' forums, comments and recommendations; the company provides similar services to USA Today, Conde Nast and The Washington Post.

Austin, Texas - Pluck, a provider of social media tools, said on Friday that the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) has hired it to provide social media capabilities across CBC digital properties. Austin-based Pluck, which also counts Fox News, Discovery, Gannett and The Washington Post as clients, will provide voting contests, interactive show commentary, forums, photo-sharing and other features for the CBC.

Los Angeles - Demand Media, a provider of domain name registration and social media services founded by former MySpace chairman Richard Rosenblatt, said on Tuesday that it has acquired Pluck, a provider of social media and syndication tools.

Austin - Pluck, a provider of social media services for media companies, said on Wednesday that it plans to connect its platform with the Facebook and OpenSocial APIs, linking the Web audiences of Pluck clients such as Gannett, Reuters and The Washington Post with users of Facebook, MySpace and other social networks. The integration will link readers' comments on Pluck client news sites back to their social network profiles. Reuters invested $7 million in Austin-based Pluck in 2006.

New York - News syndication and wire service Reuters announced on Tuesday that it has made a $7 million investment and received an undisclosed stake in Pluck, an Austin-based provider of Web media syndication services. Pluck operates the BlogBurst syndication network, which provides supplemental content from over 2,800 blogs to newspapers and other news services including Reuters, The Washington Post and the Gannett newspaper chain. Pluck's SiteLife service also allows newspapers to add readers' photos and videos alongside stories on their websites.

Austin, Texas - Pluck Corporation, a provider of blog syndication services, announced on Tuesday that several newspapers, including The San Francisco Chronicle and Austin American-Statesman, have begun syndicating blog content from Pluck's BlogBurst syndication network on their websites. BlogBurst features content from over 1,000 sources, including Vagablogging, Teen Fashionista and Accidental Hedonist.
