San Francisco - PodShow, a provider of podcast creation and distribution software, said on Tuesday that it has partnered with content delivery network provider Limelight Networks to launch PodShowPDN, an accelerated delivery network for podcasts. The companies said PodShowPDN can be used to manage, deliver and track tens of thousands of shows, millions of episodes and hundreds of millions of downloads.

San Francisco -- PodShow, a provider of podcasting software and related services that recently raised $8.8 million in venture capital, announced on Tuesday the launch of its PodSafe Music Network, which will offer royalty-free independent music for use in creating music podcasts. Listeners will also be able to rate and comment on the works of artists and producers contributing to the network. Unlike streaming radio shows, few major labels and artists are currently licensing tracks for use in podcasts, as the songs are delivered in the unprotected MP3 format. San Francisco-based PodShow said that Absolut Vodka will co-sponsor the launch of the PodSafe Music Network.

San Francisco -- PodShow, a start-up providing directories, community, technology and content programming for the budding podcasting market, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $8.85 million in its first round of venture capital financing. Investors in the round included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Sequoia Capital and Sherpalo Ventures. Co-founded by former MTV personality and podcasting developer Adam Curry, PodShow offers podcasting software called CastBlaster, and hosts a network of podcast programs that are distributed through Apple's iTunes and Sirius Satellite Radio. The San Francisco-based company will use the funds launch additional features, programs and technologies in the immediate future.
