Los Angeles - Palm (NASD: PALM) has once again updated the software for its Pre smartphone so that the device can sync with Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iTunes and transfer songs as if it were an iPhone, Wired.com reported. The companies have been in a cat-and-mouse game, with Apple having updated iTunes twice to block the Pre from syncing. Palm also recently failed to compel the standards body governing USB that Apple was hampering competition by blocking the Pre; in fact, the group said that Palm could be violating the rules by fooling iTunes into thinking the Pre is an iPhone.
