Proteus Acquired By U.K.-based 2ergo As Part of U.S. Expansion

Washington - 2ergo, a U.K.-based provider of interactive communications services, said that it has acquired Washington-based Proteus, a provider of mobile services to large media companies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 2ergo said the acquisition will give it a solid foundation from which to launch its portfolio of services into the U.S. market, as well as instant relationships with Proteus clients such as Disney, Fox and NBC-Universal. Launched in 1996, Proteus delivers mobile interactive services to support TV broadcasting, media events and mobile marketing.

Proteus Expands Mobile Content into Latin American with Fox

Washington - Mobile entertainment publisher Proteus said on Thursday that it has significantly expanded its distribution into the Latin American wireless market through a new partnership with Fox Latin American Channels. As part of the deal, the two companies have launched "MyFox," a new cell phone service initially offering such features as text messaging, games, ringtones and on-air polling.

Proteus Launches SMS Interactive TV Feature for Fuel TV

Washington - Mobile entertainment publisher Proteus said that it has teamed with Fox Cable Networks' FUEL TV, an action sports network, to launch a new live "text-to-screen" application. The technology will allow viewers of the channel's "The Daily Habit" show to send text messages directly to the show and watch their "shoutouts," questions and requests telecast in a live ticker scrolling along the screen. Proteus also has created a web storefront where fans can download original artwork from FUEL TV to personalize their mobile phones.
