Report: Facebook in Talks on Funding; Seeks $5-$6B Valuation

New York - Facebook has held "valuation discussions" with a range of potential investors, including Providence Equity Partners, General Atlantic, Bain Capital and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, The New York Post reported, citing "multiple sources close to or involved in the situation." The sources said Facebook is interested in new funding at a valuation of $5 billion to $6 billion, but the private equity firms it has been in talks with see the firm as being worth more in the range of $2 billion to $3 billion.

Game Publisher, Developer ZeniMax Raises $300 Million

Rockville, Md. - ZeniMax Media, a developer and publisher of video games for consoles, PCs and handheld devices, said on Thursday that it has landed a $300 million investment from Providence Equity Partners.

San Francisco - The online video distribution joint venture between News Corp. and NBC Universal ("New Site," for now) has received a $100 million investment from private equity firm Providence Equity Partners, in exchange for a 10% stake, The New York Times reported, citing people with knowledge of the deal.
