RadioShack Stores to Sell Apple's iPhone

Fort Worth, Texas - Electronics retail store chain RadioShack (NYSE: RSH) announced on Monday that it will begin selling Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iPhone next year. The device will first be sold at RadioShack stores in the Dallas and New York metro areas this month. RadioShack stores already stock T-Mobile phones, and its kiosks in Sam's Club stores sell Verizon Wireless products.

RadioShack Teams with Libraries on DTV Transition Campaign

Fort Worth, Texas - Electronics retail chain RadioShack (NYSE: RSH) announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with the American Library Association (ALA) on a public education program about the upcoming digital TV transition. Under the deal, RadioShack's 4,500 company stores and many of its 1,000-plus franchises will offer knowledgeable employees to 16,000 ALA public libraries to host educational sessions for library patrons, to include instructions on how to apply for government coupons to put towards the purchase of digital TV adapters.

RadioShack to Sell TiVo DVRs Online, in Retail Stores

Alviso, Calif. - TiVo, a provider of digital video recorder services, on Tuesday announced an agreement with electronics retailer RadioShack, which will now carry the TiVo Series2 Dual Tuner DVR and TiVo Wireless G Adapter in more than 3,000 of its U.S. retail stores, and on its website. RadioShack will offer an 80-hour TiVo box for $99, after a $150 rebate.

Wal-Mart, RadioShack Lead Major U.S. Retailers in Mobile Sales

San Francisco - Among people who purchased wireless devices from a major U.S. retailer over the past six months, 60% bought their devices from either Wal-Mart or RadioShack, according to a new study by San Francisco-based Telephia. Wal-Mart captured 32% of the market share, up from 15% two years ago, while RadioShack captured another 28%. Best Buy (12%), Target (8%) and Circuit City (7%) rounded out the top five. Overall, however, big box and consumer electronic retailers accounted for just 11% of the total market share, with nearly half of all mobile device sales taking place at retail stores owned by the service providers, themselves.

RadioShack Becomes Apple Reseller, Will Stock iPod for Holidays

Fort Worth, Texas - Electronics retail store chain RadioShack announced on Tuesday that it has agreed to become an Authorized Apple Reseller, and will stock Apple's iPod digital music players in its 5,000 stores for the holiday shopping season. RadioShack will sell the iPod shuffle, iPod Nano and video iPod, in addition to various iPod accessories.
