San Diego - Sony (NYSE: SNE) this week announced plans to ship the third-generation edition of its Reader Digital Book device next month. The release of the $400 PRS-700 model Sony Reader Digital Book will accompany the launch of a redesigned Sony eBook Store that promises more prominent book cover art, updated search and a streamlined checkout process.

San Diego - Sony Electronics on Tuesday introduced its second-generation Reader Digital Book, which will go on sale for $300 later this month at Borders stores and from Sony's website.
