RED to Launch Music Subscription Service for AIDS Charity

New York - (RED), the nonprofit campaign spearheaded by U2 frontman Bono whose goal is to help eliminate AIDS in Africa, announced on Monday that it plans to launch a $5-per-month digital music subscription service that will help fund its efforts. Powered by PassAlong Networks, the service will each week receive one new exclusive song from a top artist; one song by an emerging talent; a "Crackerjack surprise," such as a music video; and stores describing details of (RED) dollars being put to work in Africa.

Dulles, Va. - More than three years after launching its KOL service for kids aged 7-12 and Red service for teens, AOL plans to phase out both businesses, PaidContent.org reported.

Apple Introduces 8GB Special Edition RED iPod nano

Cupertino, Calif. - Apple on Friday introduced an 8GB model of its iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition. Apple will donate $10 from the sale of both the 8GB and 4GB models -- which feature a red aluminum enclosure -- to the Global Fund to help fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.

U2 Rocker Bono Promotes New iPod Nano Red

Apple will contribute $10 from the sale of each new red-colored iPod nano to The Global Fund, an organization headed up by humanitarian Rocker Bono that fights AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. The model, priced the same as its $199 cousins, goes on sale Friday.
