Los Angeles - Neil Smith, VP of Business Management for Rhapsody America, a JV between Real Networks (NASD: RNWK) and MTV (NYSE: VIA), recently spoke on a panel at DMW's Digital Music Forum West. In this interview, he talks about the possibility of Apple's (NASD: AAPL)iTunes adding a subscription service and what that would do to Rhapsody. He also talks about the integration with MTV and Yahoo! (NASD: YHOO)Music Unlimited. Smith also details what he thinks that the music market will look like in the future and how revenue will be split between the different forms of consuming music in a digital age.
New York - Viacom's MTV, RealNetworks and wireless carrier Verizon on Tuesday announced the formation of a digital music joint venture, Rhapsody America.
